Trusting Her Trustworthy Lord
Trusting Her Trustworthy Lord
Mary said: “My soul glorifies the Lord and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior.”
Luke 1:46–47
When Mary was given news of God’s life-changing favor, she sang a song. That song included so many fear-fighting, faith-building elements that it certainly must have strengthened her heart for what was to come (Luke 1:46–56).
Humble and willing, Mary accepted her divine assignment with faith. She responded to the angel’s message with thanksgiving and praise. In the face of any fears she might have had, she glorified God, proclaimed His goodness, and celebrated His faithfulness to her and to His people.
In her song of praise, Mary reminded herself of amazing things her trustworthy God had done for her people through the generations. She trusted that He would be every bit as faithful to her. She knew God was worthy of her trust, so she entrusted her future—her very life—to Him. And as the months unfolded, Mary kept her eyes fixed on the Author of the Promise who she carried in her womb.
What a beautiful example of how to build faith and trust in our great God. Great is His faithfulness! Great is His love for us! He is completely trustworthy!
Lord, thank You for Mary’s example. I choose to live with joy and hope, confident in Your great design. I love You, Lord!
