Time For A New Lens

Time For A New Lens

If the Spirit of him who raised Jesus from the dead is living in you, he who raised Christ from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies because of his Spirit who lives in you.

Romans 8:11

If you wear glasses, you know that a change in lenses radically alters the way things look to you. The same is true for your spiritual glasses. When you look at your future through the resurrection lens of hope instead of the shamed or hurt or less-than lens, you will see possibility, hope, and purpose. You will no longer have to accept shame as your lot in life. You will be able to move past your past—and live a transformed life.

Choosing that resurrection perspective will alter how you see everything.

“I can’t escape the images of the abuse or the sound of the cruel voices” will become “God sustained me through the abuse of my past and is healing my brokenness so that I might offer hope to others.”

“I come from a long line of addicts and feel doomed to be the next” will become “I am freed from addiction. God is breaking the generational chain of addiction and beginning a new heritage of sobriety for my children and grandchildren.”

Put on your resurrection lens today, and see how your view of the past changes your future.

God, I look through the resurrection lens of hope so I can confidently walk with You into the future.
