Thinking Bigger

The LORD has made the heavens his throne; from there he rules over everything.

Psalm 103:19 NLT

In all my plans, in all my dreams, whatever step-by-step goals I set, I am always thankful that God’s thinking is definitely bigger than mine. “ ‘My thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,’ declares the LORD. ‘As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts’ ” (Isaiah 55:8–9).

The picture we see for our future is often based on our limited experiences, resources, expectations, socioeconomic backgrounds, traditions, education, and culture. But God is not contained by any of these.

• Where we see lack, God sees opportunity.

• Where we see failure, God sees potential.

• Where we see containment, God sees refinement.

• Where we see weakness, God sees strength.

• Where we see death, God sees life.

• Where we see what is or has been, God sees what can and will be.

As our perspective comes in line with God’s, we begin to see our dreams fulfilled. So act on your plans and your vision, but remain open to God’s course-altering perspective—and let it guide your way.

Loving God, thank You for Your crystal-clear vision of my life. Thank You for helping me see every circumstance through Your eyes.
