The Truth

“The reason I was born and came into the world is to testify to the truth.”

John 18:37

We live in a world where authenticity makes a big impact. Truth sticks out in the midst of all the media, politicians, advertisers who manipulate for their own ends. The idea of truth in general is often compromised. That’s why living authentically for God is so powerful—and why you can change the world by testifying to His truth.

We do this by living it. Perhaps that’s why Jesus did not say that He came into the world to tell the truth. Rather, He came to testify or bear witness to the truth. He lived an authentic life where His words, actions, thoughts, and deeds all bore witness to the same message of truth: the message about people’s sin, God’s love, Jesus’ death and resurrection, available forgiveness, adoption as God’s children, and the Holy Spirit within us and transforming us.

As a Christian, never underestimate the impact you can have simply by walking your talk, not only at home and at church, but in the neighborhood and larger community as well. The world has enough people professing one thing and living another. You are blessed to be different. As you live a life of integrity and consistency, God will use you to draw people to Him.

Holy Spirit, please show me how to be consistent in my walk and talk. I want to be a beacon of Your truth in this world.
