The Pace Of Your Journey

The plans of the LORD stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations.

Psalm 33:11

“What is happening when nothing seems to be happening? What is God up to when there is no evidence of Him answering my prayers or moving me along in my journey?”

God is always preparing you for what He has already prepared for you. The point of this journey is who you will become on the way, not just the destination where you will arrive.

We live in a world that rushes everywhere and knows very little about journeying. As Christians, we are often infected with that same virus. We want God to act in our lives now, and we become impatient if we don’t see any evidence of Him moving (or if He isn’t moving as fast as we want Him to). If that’s how you’re feeling now, take a moment to consider what God has been doing in your life. Look at events in the context of your whole journey.

How has He changed you? Who has He placed in your path? What have been your struggles, and what growth has resulted from them? As you look back, open your heart to Him and His timing. Trust His pace. Trust His plan.

Lord, You are wise, and You are sovereign. Change my heart so I can remain in step with Your perfect pace and plan.
