It happens to all of us. We suddenly realize what we’re thinking and wonder, Wait, how did I work myself into such a state? Maybe you’re angry again. Frustrated, lonely, disillusioned, heartbroken, anxious, fearful, defeated. You hopped on a train of thought and it took you to a place you don’t want to be. Well, I have some good news: you can hop right off that train and catch a different one.
That’s right. Our thoughts, like a train, take us somewhere. And sometimes it’s a bullet train to a dark place. But we have the power to manage our thoughts. We have a choice about whether or not to follow the train of thought we’re on, or change trains so we don’t end up where we do not want to be. Thank God, there’s a way to change trains and jump tracks!
Over the years, I’ve learned to renew my mind to what God’s Word says so I don’t just think the thoughts that pop into my head. I’ve learned to think about what is true, noble, right, pure, lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy. Thoughts that can bring healing and peace and keep me on a better track.
Lord, as I renew my mind with Your Word, I choose new thoughts that reflect Your truth.
