God’s Perfect Timing

God’s Perfect Timing

Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord.

Psalm 27:14

When I was pregnant, people would ask, “What is your due date?” I answered based on the date the doctor had given me, knowing it might not be the exact date—because how could anyone but God really know when a baby will be born? When my daughter did not arrive on her expected date, people’s question changed to “How far past your due date are you?” Then I realized that my baby was not overdue; she was coming right on time.

Just like a baby being right on time, so is God. He’s never early and never late. We may think He is, but that’s because we confuse due dates with due seasons. And we set ourselves up for disappointment.

In the New Testament, when God promised us, “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up” (Galatians 6:9), He did not state a specific date. Yet, we mysteriously hold Him accountable to a deadline we prescribe. It’s time we start trusting in God’s perfect timing and shift our hearts and minds to adapt to His methods of timing.

God is always on time. He’s never late—and He’s always faithful.

Lord, thank You for working out the perfect timing for Your good plan for me. Please help me stay on Your schedule.
