God Wants To Do Something Through You

“Even though [the friend] will not get up and give you the bread because of friendship, yet because of your shameless audacity he will surely get up and give you as much as you need.”

Luke 11:8

What is the longest you have prayed for something? Six months? Five years? Ten? When you have prayed long and hard about something, the question you probably most want answered was, “God, why is it taking so long? I have been praying and praying and praying.”

God’s answer is nearly always, “I need to do something in you so that when I answer your prayer, I can do something through you.”

As you wait for God to answer, know that God is also teaching you to be persistent and faithful. He’s teaching you to be faithful with the small things He has given you—to be faithful when you haven’t yet received the answer to your prayers, so you will be a good steward when you do receive your answer.

So, keep praying faithfully and audaciously. And when you receive God’s answer to your prayers, remember that this is just the beginning of what God has for you, because as Luke wrote, He wants to give you as much as you need. He wants to do a brand-new thing in you, so He can do more through you!

Lord, I am audaciously persistent in my prayers. I trust You and thank You for what You want to do through me!
