Divine Correction

Divine Correction

Guide me in your truth and teach me, for you are God my Savior, and my hope is in you all day long.

Psalm 25:5

God is in the business of healing broken hearts, binding up wounded souls, and renewing minds with His truth. Have you ever been reading the Bible and noticed that your thoughts—about yourself, about life, about God, about holiness, about right and wrong—were about as far away from God’s thoughts as you were from the moon? That’s the moment when your mind was being renewed.

It was life-changing for me when I realized that I should not believe all my feelings and thoughts, especially when they contradict the Word of God. From start to finish, Scripture contains absolute truth. It is infallible in its presentation of God’s character, Jesus’ life on this earth, instructions for living, historical accounts, miracles, and the future (2 Timothy 3:16–17).

When, for instance, your feelings tell you that you are utterly unloved, the truth of God’s Word teaches otherwise: “I have always been mindful of your unfailing love” (Psalm 26:3). God’s love for you is unfailing, constant, and permanent: He loves you now and He always will. When you renew your mind to that truth, then your thinking is on track.

Knowing God’s truth can profoundly affect our broken hearts, our wounded souls, and our cluttered minds. Dive into it today, and be guided in truth and renewed with hope.

Thank You, Lord, that You never stop healing me and renewing my mind with Your truth.
