Defeating Giants

Defeating Giants

This day the LORD will deliver you into my hands, and I’ll strike you down.

1 Samuel 17:46

“What if” questions can be launching pads of faith, or they can hold us back in fear. Whatever your “what ifs” are, you can change them from a sign of fear to a sign of faith.

Fear asks questions like these: What if no one comes? What if there is not enough money? What if I fail? What if we lose everything? What if my friends walk away?

Faith asks questions like these: What if hundreds of young people come and surrender their lives to Christ? What if we are approved for the loan? What if my coworker says yes to coming to church? What if that business deal works? What if I get a degree?

Faith questions rise up in our hearts when we place our confidence in God—when we trust in Him more than we do our insecurities. When David killed the giant Goliath, he didn’t think about how big Goliath was. He only thought about how big his God was! That’s why he could declare in confidence, “This day the Lord will deliver you into my hands.”

So what if—starting today—you choose to put your faith in God? What if you start asking all of your questions with a faith perspective? If you do, you’ll defeat all of your giants!

Lord, I choose to retrain my thinking and start asking questions of faith. Thank You for helping me reframe my perspective starting today!
