Cause And Effect
Cause And Effect
“In everything, do to others what you would have them do to you.”
Matthew 7:12
The law of cause and effect is very real in our Christian walk. When we live in such a way as to reveal Christ to the world, it makes an eternal difference in people’s lives. They notice and become curious, hungry for the truth. For example:
• When we live a morally pure life, we show a dark but watching world that God has determined the best way to live.
• When we live a God-first life in a world of competing options, we demonstrate the value of making God our top priority.
• When we live “green,” people see that we love God’s creation.
• When we forgive instead of harboring offense, we illustrate grace.
• When we serve “the least of these,” we reflect God’s compassion and true leadership.
• When we fight for justice, we show our awareness of the incalculable value of every person.
Your actions and choices matter—even when you aren’t aware that they do. People watch you, listen to you, and learn from you—much like your children do when you don’t realize they are observing and absorbing. So, consciously use your influence wisely and show the people in your realm of influence who Jesus really is—the true Savior, who gives them hope. The only One who can give their lives meaning and purpose.
Lord, help me use my influence wisely, to make a difference, to lead others to become Christ-followers.
