Ask God On A Date

Ask God On A Date

You, God, are my God, earnestly I seek you.

Psalm 63:1

Without sounding too sacrilegious, I venture to say that God wants to date you! I believe He wants to spend time with you and dream dreams with you and plan an amazing life together. And, I believe He wants you to get to know Him better—and to grow closer to Him. So, if you were to start dating God, where would you go? Why not try:

• going for a walk with God before burying yourself in your daily demands.

• chatting with Him as you drive to work (completely ignoring the people staring from the car next to you).

• taking God on a shopping trip. (He’ll be very honest about how big your thighs look in skinny jeans.)

• inviting God out for coffee. (He is well known for leaving His coffee untouched, which means you always get a second cup!)

Seriously, though, time spent getting to know God in our day-to-day activities increases our intimacy with Him. And He loves to respond to our questions, our heart-cries, our musings when we ask to spend set-apart, designated time with Him. He loves to keep His promise to us: “Come near to God and he will come near to you” (James 4:8).

God, I want to spend time with You and get to know You better. Please meet me for a quiet moment together today!
