Makeover Takeover: Cleansing And Hydrating

You were cleansed; you were made holy; you were made right with God by calling on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God.

It’s spa day! Our beauty treatment today is not just a makeover, but a takeover of the heart. We are going to apply these cleansing and hydrating tips together as a whimsical way to put God’s Word into our hearts. These tips really are a beautifying treatment of the heart that only God in Christ can do. We can always use some freshening up to the glory of God!

Together we are going to discover how to look better with a few practical beauty tips and how to be sweeter on the inside to the glory of our great God. This beautifying from the inside out explains why I call this a takeover instead of merely a makeover.

Jesus wants to take over every area of our life as we submit to Him by faith. When He does, His beauty shines through and glows on our face, even changing the way we carry ourselves.

The takeover starts with a good cleansing. Each morning when we pull out our washcloths or makeup-remover cloths, let’s greet God and thank Him that He has cleansed us and made us holy. As we apply toner, let’s thank Him for gently removing any dry layers of sin that block His glow. Finally, as we smooth on moisturizing cream, let’s be reminded to apply the hydrating power of His Word on a daily basis.

Jesus is our Takeover. He is the only makeover we need for eternity. We can wear our heart’s glow on our faces now!
