Lost My Marbles

Live clean, innocent lives as children of God, shining like bright lights in a world full of crooked and perverse people.

I lost my marbles. Seriously, I literally lost about a hundred of my marbles at the bottom of the kitchen trash can when I was discarding a seasonal fall decoration.

I wish you could have seen my work of art! I am not a very crafty person, but I do feel comfortable using a glue gun. The marbles acted as a weight to hold a brown twig with candy corn hot-glued strategically to its branches. It was very cute and sweet while it lasted.

When fall rolled into the Christmas season, I wanted to replace the arrangement with a holiday one. But when I went to discard it, I forgot about the marbles until it was too late! I laughed as I donned my fancy decorated kitchen gloves to transfer my trash into a new trash bag in order to save my marbles. One by one, I collected my marbles for future projects.

In a world full of crooked and unpeaceful people easily marred by the worries of life, God has chosen those in Christ to be His prized, shiny marbles, saved from the garbage can of sin, not only to reflect His light but to be used for His future projects. This is the gospel, the Good News we need to hear every day. God has given us everything we need to live clean, innocent lives as children of God. He sees us as clean and innocent before Him because Jesus came to earth as a human in order to rescue us.

Let’s live clean, innocent lives as children of God and thank Him for rescuing us. Swap out an old home décor piece for a new one, and thank God that His Good News never grows old and never goes out of season.
