I Live You
I Live You
Those who obey God’s word truly show how completely they love him. That is how we know we are living in him. Those who say they live in God should live their lives as Jesus did.
1 John 2:5-6
It happens repeatedly to me when I’m texting on my phone’s teeny keyboard. I hit the i key instead of the o key and sign off my messages with “I live you” instead of “I love you.” I’ve thought about my unintentional misspelling in terms of my relationship with God. We love Him when we live Him. We live Him when we obey Him. And when we obey Him, we love and live Him. That’s all there is to it! The best part is that when we have given our lives to Christ, His Spirit inside us gives us the “want to.” We want to do His will. “God is working in you, giving you the desire and the power to do what pleases him” (Philippians 2:13). Isn’t this wonderful news? We want to please Him, and even that desire comes from Him! God is always at work in His children’s lives.
It makes sense. If you’re like me, you want to show your family and close friends how much you love them. We want to please them, so we do things that we know they like. Here’s a simple example: I try to remember to clean off my clutter from our small bathroom counter so my husband, Mark, has room for his things. All of us have choices, and when we choose to take God’s high road in the big and small things, we live Him over and over again. What a wonderful, freeing way to live!
What small change do you need to make to live God before a family member or friend? Try to implement it quickly and live Him.
