God’s Glow
God’s Glow
[Moses] wasn’t aware that his face had become radiant because he had spoken to the LORD.
Exodus 34:29
Have you ever tried self-tanner to give yourself a more radiant glow without damaging your skin with UV rays? Some people think it’s the best product ever made, while others haven’t had positive results. Self-tanners may seem simple enough to use. After all, you just have to apply them. But sometimes even that simple step can be a bit tricky.
First you have to get past the smell because some brands leave a lingering scent you may not like. Then applying it correctly takes practice in order to avoid telltale streaks. Finally, you might have an allergic reaction, and with some inferior brands, you risk waking up with an orange glow that resembles the University of Virginia, Clemson, or Tennessee orange.
Before self-tanners were ever formulated, Moses found the best way to get a lasting radiance that goes deeper than just the skin. When Moses walked closely with God and talked to Him personally, he glowed! He had to cover his face because God’s anointing was so powerful it could have blinded anyone who saw him.
We can experience that same glow when we spend time with God. In addition, we always have access to the Holy Spirit. As well as His presence, we have the Bible for wisdom and encouragement for all the trials we encounter between here and heaven! His Word is the map for our rocky roads as well as for life’s cliff-hangers and mountaintop experiences.
We glow with Him when we hear His voice through His Word, and we do what He says by the power of His Spirit.
Let’s face it: Only in Him can our faces, hearts, and lives radiate His love. Ask Him to work in and through you today . . . reflecting God’s glow.
