Boundless Love
Boundless Love
The LORD says, “Then I will heal you of your faithlessness; my love will know no bounds, for my anger will be gone forever. I will be to Israel like a refreshing dew from heaven.”
Hosea 14:4-5
On almost every devotion I write, my heart is shouting, “I love God’s Word.” Actually, it is not the words I love, but God Himself. I fall more and more in love with Him as He reveals Himself through the Bible.
In the stories I read, I see Him forgive over and over again, and I am overwhelmed by His boundless love that was demonstrated by the sacrifice of His Son. I still can’t get my mind around the fact that He lavishes His love on me because I feel so small in this big world.
His boundless love allows—no, it invites—me to rub shoulders with the King of kings and Lord of lords, Creator of all and perfect Father, who shares with His children all the riches of His endless wisdom, untiring kindness, mercy, grace, comfort, and care for everything that concerns me (and you). Again, I am purposefully reminding all of us reading this devotion today that God has endless love for you and me!
Only the Lord can refresh us from the inside and out. We can attempt to eat right and exercise and try to get enough sleep. We can take a day off to recoup. But we cannot invoke lasting joy, contentment, freedom, and comfort apart from God.
Need refreshment today? Read the book of Hosea and see a world gone wild restored. Be encouraged! Let’s allow God’s dew of heaven to pour out on us by His Spirit as we keep short accounts with God, repenting of our sin and allowing Him to restore us and refresh us.
Meditate on God’s boundless love today. Write a love note to Him, telling Him what His love means to you. And maybe a family member would enjoy a surprise love note on his or her pillow too.
