The Romans Road: Part 4 Of 5

The Romans Road: Part 4 of 5

Bible Blast: Read Romans 10:9-13

If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Romans 10:9

Nancy was only ten years old when her dad died. Since her mom was very sick and lived in a hospital, Nancy had to go live with her aunt. Her aunt wasn’t kind to her and made her work very hard. One day her aunt yelled at her because she didn’t think that Nancy had done a good job of making the bed. She angrily ripped the bedspread off the bed and threw it at Nancy, telling her to do it right.

This was Nancy’s breaking point. Tears came to her eyes as she reached for the blanket. At that moment, she remembered visiting church as a little girl, and she wondered if maybe God was real. So she simply said, “Please God, help me.” Then she lifted the blanket up as high as her short arms would stretch. She felt as if a gust of wind came up under the blanket and lifted it higher. It then slowly settled onto the bed in the most perfect, smoothed-out manner possible. Nancy smiled, and she decided that day that she believed in God. Even though things didn’t get easier, she always knew that God was with her. And she eventually was able to confess with her mouth that Jesus was her Lord.

There are miraculous stories all over our globe about children having dramatic conversations with God. These are conversations that lead them to the important act of confessing that Jesus is Lord and that God raised him from the dead.

You don’t have to be very old to confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord. Janet gave her life to Jesus when she was in seventh grade. Before that, she thought that since her dad was a pastor, she was automatically saved too. When she realized that she needed her own relationship with Jesus, she confessed her sins to God and began her new life with him. It’s important to understand that you have sinned and that Jesus died for you, but you don’t have to have it all figured out.

Do you believe that Jesus is Lord?

Girl Gab: Mom, tell your daughter about the circumstances and environment when you first confessed Jesus as Lord. Daughter, do the same. If either of you hasn’t done this, why not do it today?
