Walk with the wise and become wise; associate with fools and get in trouble. Proverbs 13:20

I bet any guy would love to be called a “Mighty Man.” That’s what David called members of a special group of guys that surrounded him to protect him and help him defeat his enemies. They were strong warriors and champions. The Bible lists the amazing things those men had done in battle to earn the right to be one of David’s Mighty Men. If you don’t like battle-scene stuff, you may not like reading this very much, but the stories are incredible!

The Mighty Men were guys David could rely on and trust to fight for him and for the Lord. They were committed to David and his safety. More than likely, the Mighty Men were some really big dudes.

Who do you rely on? Do you have a team of Mighty Girls who do great things for God and love you very much? Do your closest friends encourage you to

• shop for modest clothes?

• not be boy-crazy?

• get into God’s Word?

• be respectful to your teachers and parents?

• listen to music that honors God?

• exercise and eat healthy foods?

• always tell the truth?

• pray about everything?

If you want to live a life that pleases God, you definitely need at least one awesome Mighty Girl in your life. Just like Proverbs 13:20 says, if you hang out with wise girls, you’ll become wise too. But if the girls you hang with do foolish things, you will too. That could get you into a lot of trouble.

David knew he needed some awesome people in his life, and you do too. Every girl who wants to follow Jesus needs some Mighty Girls to walk with her and fight for her. Are you a Mighty Girl?
