Meditation Moment: Psalm 139

Meditation Moment: Psalm 139

O LORD, you have examined my heart and know everything about me. You know when I sit down or stand up. You know my thoughts even when I’m far away. You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, LORD. You go before me and follow me. You place your hand of blessing on my head. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me, too great for me to understand! Psalm 139:1-6

Sometimes we don’t let people know us completely because we are afraid they won’t like us or accept us if they do. That can never be the case with God. He knows everything about us. Everything? Yep, everything. Even how many hairs are on your head (see Matthew 10:30). You don’t even know that about yourself!

Okay, it’s time to muscle up and meditate. Read and reread Psalm 139:1-6, thinking about what it really says. Next, take some time to pray, using the ideas in this passage to help you praise and thank God. Then wait for God to give you a story, picture, thought, or idea to write down. You can do it!

Girl Gab: Share with each other what God spoke into your heart as you meditated on his Word today. What do you need to do in response to that?
