Little And Big Choices
Little and Big Choices
Bible Blast: Read Genesis 3:1-6
When Adam sinned, sin entered the world. Adam’s sin brought death, so death spread to everyone, for everyone sinned.
Romans 5:12
We don’t always understand how one little decision we make can turn into something much, much bigger.
When Adam and Eve decided to eat from that tree they might have thought, It’s just a piece of fruit. What harm could it bring if we ate it? The moment Eve took that bite, though, was the first time a human disobeyed God. With that first disobedient step, sin came into our world.
When we think about the message of God sending his Son, Jesus, to the earth to die for our sins, we don’t always include Adam and Eve as part of that story, but they’re a big part of the gospel. If sin had never entered the world through the first couple, Jesus never would have needed to come and give his life to provide a way for people to be forgiven for their sins. If no one had ever sinned, we would still be living in a perfect world with no death or sin. But God will restore us to a perfect world, like Eden but better, when we get to heaven. In heaven we’ll be totally connected to God, just like Adam and Eve were in the very beginning. That’s something to look forward to!
Sometimes “little” choices can lead to bad things, and sometimes they can lead to really good things. Do you know who Neil Armstrong is? He’s the first man ever to walk on the moon. The whole world waited while Neil made his way down the ladder to place his foot on the surface of the moon. When his feet touched the moon, he said, “That’s one small step for a man, and one giant leap for mankind.”
Neil Armstrong was right in what he said. His tiny little step onto the moon changed history.
The choices you make every day really do matter. The steps you take can lead to big things. Choose to obey God today and every day.
