Fancy Feet

Bible Blast: Read Romans 10:13-15

How beautiful on the mountains are the feet of the messenger who brings good news, the good news of peace and salvation, the news that the God of Israel reigns! Isaiah 52:7

There is a hilarious bird that lives way down at the bottom of South America. It has a really comical name, so prepare yourself. It’s a Blue-footed Booby. Now go ahead and say that five times in a row as fast as you can and get all your giggles out.

A Blue-footed Booby is a funky bird that might remind you of a seagull. Blue-footed Boobies nest on land, but they dive into water for their food. As you might be able to tell by the name, Blue-footed Boobies have very unique feet. Their bodies are mostly black, white, or grey, but their feet and legs are a vibrant light blue. And as if their feet weren’t crazy enough, what they do with their feet is even funnier. When a boy Blue-footed Booby is trying to get a girl Blue-footed Booby’s attention, he does a funny little dance. He walks kind of slowly and lifts his blue feet up high, one at a time in a sort of clumsy waddle. He looks so serious and proud about his dance, but the dance itself is so awkward.

Your feet may not be blue, but they are beautiful if they take you out to share the gospel. Today’s Bible Blast is so great because it makes sense. Let me rewrite it for you differently:

Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved. But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them? And how will anyone tell them without being sent?

And now, ladies, that’s where your pretty feet come in!

When someone chooses to go and tell others about Jesus, her feet are blessed. That means that God sees what you’re doing, and he likes it. He will make a way for your feet as they walk toward the lost.

Those who take the Good News of salvation in Jesus Christ to others have truly gorgeous piggies!
