Daniel: Holiness!
Daniel: Holiness!
Bible Blast: Look over Daniel 1 again.
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2
Daniel chose to bloom in his love for God no matter what situation he was in. Today let’s talk about a word that maybe you’ve heard before: holiness.
In the Bible holy means “set apart, pure.” Daniel’s story is a great example of holiness. His choices are what set him apart from those who didn’t worship God. If he had chosen just to do what everybody else was doing, he wouldn’t have been set apart, and God wouldn’t have received the glory for strengthening him.
Romans 12:2 says, “Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect.”
From Daniel’s life we learn that a big part of living a holy life is making choices that honor God above everything else. As Romans 12 teaches us, we can’t just do whatever the world is doing. We need to let God entirely change the way we think. Do you feel like you just do whatever everyone else is doing?
Look at the following areas of your life. Pick one that you want to be more “set apart” in and put a check by it.
