Surrender

Surrender

What does it mean to “surrender my life” to God?

God’s Response

LORD, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We are all formed by your hand. Isaiah 64:8

He called his disciples and the crowds to come over and listen. “If any of you wants to be my follower,” he told them, “you must put aside your selfish ambition, shoulder your cross, and follow me.” Mark 8:34

I myself no longer live, but Christ lives in me. So I live my life in this earthly body by trusting in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Galatians 2:20

When you surrender to God, you give up what you think is best for your life and do what he knows is best. You put aside your self-fulfilling ambitions so that you can do the job Jesus has for you. You ask Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to live in you and through you. You give up the control of your life to Almighty God, who created you, loves you, knows you, and has a plan for you.

God’s Promise

You died when Christ died, and your real life is hidden with Christ in God. Colossians 3:3
