Set Apart

Does God really expect me to be holy? How is that possible?

God’s Response

Who can create purity in one born impure? Job 14:4

I, the LORD, am holy, and I make you holy. Leviticus 21:8

He gave up his life for [the church] to make her holy and clean . . . to present her to himself as a glorious church without a spot or wrinkle or any other blemish. Ephesians 5:25-27

To be holy simply means to live a life that is pure, blameless, and single-heartedly devoted to what God calls us to. This means that we need to live by the standard of conduct that God teaches us in the Bible, and not blindly follow what everyone around us is doing. As followers of Jesus, we live a holy life because we want to please God and because our example can influence others to follow him. How can you live a more holy life today than yesterday?

God’s Promise

Long ago, even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. Ephesians 1:4
