How does God’s abundance satisfy the longings in my life?

God’s Response

If you only knew the gift God has for you and who I am, you would ask me, and I would give you living water. . . . People soon become thirsty again after drinking this water. But the water I give them takes away thirst altogether. It becomes a perpetual spring within them, giving them eternal life. John 4:10, 13-14

Jesus replied, “I am the bread of life. No one who comes to me will ever be hungry again. Those who believe in me will never thirst.” John 6:35

It’s a principle as old as creation that having more things does not bring great personal satisfaction. Only the Lord can fulfill your deepest longings, because he built them into you from the moment he made you. When you learn how a relationship with him truly satisfies, you will stop longing for things that can never satisfy.

God’s Promise

He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things. Psalm 107:9
