Patience

Patience

How can I develop more patience?

God’s Response

May God, who gives this patience and encouragement, help you live in complete harmony with each other —each with the attitude of Christ Jesus toward the other. Romans 15:5

Be patient with each other, making allowance for each other’s faults because of your love. Ephesians 4:2

We also pray that you will be strengthened with his glorious power so that you will have all the patience and endurance you need. Colossians 1:11

Patience and perspective go hand in hand. When you are always focused on your own agenda and priorities, you will find yourself impatient much of the time because life will rarely go the way you want it to. If you take the larger perspective that life is a journey and not a straight line between two points, you will realize that what you do along the way is as important as getting there. This allows you to patiently wait and learn when things don’t go your way, and even to find ways to serve others on the detours of daily life.

God’s Promise

Be glad for all God is planning for you. Be patient in trouble, and always be prayerful. Romans 12:12
