Money

How can I develop good habits in handling my money?

God’s Response

We didn’t bring anything with us when we came into the world, and we certainly cannot carry anything with us when we die. So if we have enough food and clothing, let us be content. But people who long to be rich fall into temptation and are trapped by many foolish and harmful desires that plunge them into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is at the root of all kinds of evil. And some people, craving money, have wandered from the faith and pierced themselves with many sorrows. 1 Timothy 6:7-10

How you handle your money reveals the condition of your soul. If Jesus asked you to, could you give up your house? your car? your lifestyle? Could you move to a crowded apartment in a poor neighborhood, ride the city buses, and never know where your next meal is coming from if that is how Jesus wants you to serve him? Your reaction may show whether money is your servant or your master. The best habit for handling money is to regularly test yourself by seeing how much of it you can give away.

God’s Challenge
