Where does joy come from?

God’s Response

May all who search for you be filled with joy and gladness. May those who love your salvation repeatedly shout, “The LORD is great!” Psalm 40:16

Consider the joy of those corrected by God! Do not despise the chastening of the Almighty when you sin. Job 5:17

I know the LORD is always with me. . . . No wonder my heart is filled with joy. Psalm 16:8-9

The Lord himself is the source of true joy. The more you love him, know him, walk with him, and become like him, the greater your joy will be. Even times of discipline can be considered joyful because you know that God loves you enough to correct you.
