Heartbreak

Heartbreak

How can I recover from a broken heart?

God’s Response

From the ends of the earth, I will cry to you for help, for my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the towering rock of safety. Psalm 61:2

Come quickly, LORD, and answer me, for my depression deepens. Don’t turn away from me, or I will die. Let me hear of your unfailing love to me in the morning, for I am trusting you. Show me where to walk, for I have come to you in prayer. Psalm 143:7-8

There is no quick antidote for a broken heart. No pill, taken twice a day for two weeks, will cure it. A broken heart needs a different kind of healing —and doses of compassion, listening, love, comfort, encouragement, and blessing will eventually restore joy and hope to your soul. God is the master healer. Others can help, but no one can touch your broken heart and heal it as he can. When you are hurting, move toward God, not away from him. He is the greatest source of joy and healing.

God’s Promise

He heals the brokenhearted, binding up their wounds. Psalm 147:3
