How should God’s grace affect my view of him?

God’s Response

The LORD is merciful and gracious; he is slow to get angry and full of unfailing love. Psalm 103:8

Rejoice in the LORD your God! For the rains he sends are an expression of his grace. Once more the autumn rains will come, as well as the rains of spring. Joel 2:23

I will have mercy on you through my grace. Isaiah 60:10

Using God’s righteousness as the standard, we must conclude that every one of us stands guilty before him. In a very real sense, we’ve committed treason against the King by disobeying his law and rebelling against him. We deserve judgment, a life sentence. Instead, God offers us forgiveness and freedom to live in his Kingdom forever. This is a God who is slow to get angry and full of love. This is a God who wants to show us mercy instead of judgment. When you view God as loving and kind rather than mean and vindictive, your whole perspective changes on how he affects your life.

God’s Promise

Let us come boldly to the throne of our gracious God. There we will receive his mercy, and we will find grace to help us when we need it. Hebrews 4:16
