God’s Approval

God’s Approval

Do I have to earn God’s approval?

God’s Response

When I tried to keep the law, I realized I could never earn God’s approval. Galatians 2:19

There is going to come a time of testing at the judgment day to see what kind of work each builder has done. Everyone’s work will be put through the fire to see whether or not it keeps its value. If the work survives the fire, that builder will receive a reward. But if the work is burned up, the builder will suffer great loss. The builders themselves will be saved, but like someone escaping through a wall of flames. 1 Corinthians 3:13-15

It’s not what you do for God, but your relationship with him that is most important. God’s approval of you is based on your personal faith in Jesus Christ, not on your performance. How you live your life matters, of course, but that is not what saves you. Instead, your actions are a by-product of your love for God, and your life reveals your gratitude for what God has done.

God’s Promise

Accept each other just as Christ has accepted you; then God will be glorified. Romans 15:7
