Busyness
Busyness
Even if I am careful to check my motives and plan carefully, my life is still very busy. Is that good or bad?
God’s Response
She is energetic and strong, a hard worker. . . . She carefully watches all that goes on in her household and does not have to bear the consequences of laziness. Proverbs 31:17, 27
Be sure to stay busy and plant a variety of crops, for you never know which will grow —perhaps they all will. Ecclesiastes 11:6
We are merely moving shadows, and all our busy rushing ends in nothing. We heap up wealth for someone else to spend. Psalm 39:6
Rich harvests cannot come from lazy fingers. Getting the job done will require work. Activities only become dangerous if busyness replaces real accomplishment or if you are neglecting God or the people in your care. It is a good thing to be successful through honesty, hard work, and good treatment of others. It is even better to use your resources to help those in need, to support God’s church, and to make a spiritual impact on society. We should all be busy doing that.
God’s Promise
Lazy people want much but get little, but those who work hard will prosper and be satisfied. Proverbs 13:4
