Exhaustion

Exhaustion

Am I disappointing God by my tiredness?

God’s Response

Jacob’s well was there; and Jesus, tired from the long walk, sat wearily beside the well about noontime. John 4:6

We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long for the day when we will put on our heavenly bodies. 2 Corinthians 5:2

My gracious favor is all you need. My power works best in your weakness. 2 Corinthians 12:9

God made you a flesh-and-blood human being. He lived in a human body, so he understands what it means to be tired. When you are exhausted, God cares for you like a tender parent who carries a sleeping child to bed. Your weariness can make you more aware of God’s faithfulness. Take the rest you need, and trust him to work through your weakness.

God’s Promise

Jesus said, “Come to me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.” Matthew 11:28
