God’s Response

A child is born to us, a son is given to us. . . . These will be his royal titles . . . Everlasting Father. Isaiah 9:6

His name is the LORD — rejoice in his presence! Father to the fatherless, defender of widows. Psalm 68:4-5

I will be your Father, and you will be my sons and daughters, says the Lord Almighty. 2 Corinthians 6:18

A good father shows his love for his children by spending time with them, providing for them, protecting them, celebrating with them, disciplining them, praying with them, teaching them right from wrong, and leading them to faith in Jesus Christ. God is the perfect father, and he always will be. Earthly fathers sometimes let you down, and eventually they leave this earth, but God will never disappoint you, and his love is everlasting. He longs to “father” you. Go to his strong, loving arms for your security.

The LORD is like a father to his children, tender and compassionate to those who fear him. Psalm 103:13
