Doubts

Doubts

When I’m struggling in my Christian life and have doubts, does it mean that I have less faith?

God’s Response

Abram replied, “O Sovereign LORD, how can I be sure that you will give it to me?” Genesis 15:8

John the Baptist . . . sent his disciples to ask Jesus, “Are you really the Messiah we’ve been waiting for?” Matthew 11:2-3

He climbed into the boat, and the wind stopped. They were astonished at what they saw. They still didn’t understand the significance of the miracle of the multiplied loaves, for their hearts were hard and they did not believe. Mark 6:51-52

Many people that we read about in the Bible had moments of doubt. Doubts are valuable when they bring you closer to God. When you doubt, don’t be afraid to ask questions. God can handle your doubts, so tell him what’s on your mind, and expect him to respond. Doubt is human. The church would be a lot healthier —and more attractive to unbelievers —if Christians stopped pretending that they never doubted.

God’s Promise

He has given us all of his rich and wonderful promises. . . . So make every effort to apply the benefits of these promises to your life. 2 Peter 1:4-5
