How can I discipline my mind?

God’s Response

I will reject perverse ideas and stay away from every evil. Psalm 101:4

“But this is the new covenant I will make with the people of Israel on that day,” says the LORD. “I will put my laws in their minds, and I will write them on their hearts. I will be their God, and they will be my people.” Jeremiah 31:33

God has promised a new heart and a new mind to those who follow him. A new mind is no longer controlled by sinful thoughts, but by the Holy Spirit. As you grow in your understanding and experience of God’s holiness with the help of the Holy Spirit, you will become increasingly sensitive to sin. Then you will want God to change your thought life in a way that reflects him.

God’s Promise

Let the people turn from their wicked deeds. Let them banish from their minds the very thought of doing wrong! Let them turn to the LORD that he may have mercy on them. Yes, turn to our God, for he will abundantly pardon. Isaiah 55:7
