Discernment
Discernment
In what other areas of my life do I need to be discerning?
God’s Response
“Just as the mouth tastes good food, the ear tests the words it hears.” So let us discern for ourselves what is right; let us learn together what is good. Job 34:3-4
The godly give good advice, but fools are destroyed by their lack of common sense. Proverbs 10:21
I know full well that false teachers, like vicious wolves, will come in among you after I leave, not sparing the flock. Even some of you will distort the truth in order to draw a following. Watch out! Acts 20:29-31
To develop discernment between right and wrong, between good advice and bad advice, and between true and false teachings, you must immerse yourself in God’s Word and then pay attention to how God deals with you personally. Discernment in these three areas will give you the foundation for a godly life.
God’s Promise
Getting wisdom is the most important thing you can do! And whatever else you do, get good judgment. Proverbs 4:7
