Why is temptation so dangerous?

Temptation comes from the lure of our own evil desires. James 1:14

I am not surprised! Even Satan can disguise himself as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14

Satan’s favorite strategies are to make that which is sinful appear to be desirable and good, and to convince us that what is really false is true. He knows exactly how to confuse you. He knows you well enough to know your weaknesses. In fact, Satan is even now taking aim at the places where you are most vulnerable. Don’t let Satan trick you with lies. Arm yourself with the truth God gives you in his Word.

God’s Challenge

Keep alert and pray. Otherwise temptation will overpower you. For though the spirit is willing enough, the body is weak! Matthew 26:41
