Confidence

Confidence

Why should I be confident in God?

God’s Response

The LORD is my light and my salvation —so why should I be afraid? The LORD protects me from danger —so why should I tremble? Psalm 27:1

Does your reverence for God give you no confidence? Shouldn’t you believe that God will care for those who are upright? Job 4:6

My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises! Psalm 57:7

Our confidence in God is often misguided. We think that our faith would be stronger if he gave us things that made our lives easier and more comfortable, but we’re not setting our sights high enough. The things we want often distract us from the God we long for.

God’s Promise

Oh, the joys of those who trust the LORD, who have no confidence in the proud, or in those who worship idols. Psalm 40:4
