Remember how the LORD your God led you through the wilderness for forty years, humbling you and testing you to prove your character, and to find out whether or not you would really obey his commands. Deuteronomy 8:2

Obedience is far better than sacrifice. Listening to him is much better than offering the fat of rams. 1 Samuel 15:22

You were not born with a godly character; it is the fruit of a process that evolves only through time, experience, humility, and testing. When you realize that you are not all that you would like to be, when you make a commitment to know God and read his Word, and when you face tough challenges and choices wisely, your character will become a better and better reflection of God’s character.
