Character

Character

People say that a Christian should have “good character.” What does that mean?

God’s Response

You are a holy people, who belong to the LORD your God. Of all the people on earth, [he] has chosen you to be his own special treasure. Deuteronomy 7:6

God created human beings in his own image. Genesis 1:27

God made us in his own image. This makes us unique among God’s creatures because we reflect him, including his character traits. We have the potential to be loving, truthful, patient, forgiving, kind, and faithful. Being made in God’s image does not mean being a god, or even godly, but that we have many of God’s characteristics. God must want us to use them as he does, to honor and benefit others.

God’s Promise

Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who turn many to righteousness will shine like stars forever. Daniel 12:3
