Apology

Apology

How do I make things right when I have hurt someone?

God’s Response

It’s harder to make amends with an offended friend than to capture a fortified city. Arguments separate friends like a gate locked with iron bars. Proverbs 18:19

I will go home to my father and say, “Father, I have sinned against both heaven and you.” Luke 15:18

Although making amends for an offense may be difficult, your relationships with others are worth your immediate and diligent efforts. “I’m sorry” are two very important words. When you have hurt someone, apologize as quickly as possible and make any needed restitution. Forgiveness is powerful because it frees both sides from bitterness.

God’s Challenge

If you are standing before the altar in the Temple, offering a sacrifice to God, and you suddenly remember that someone has something against you, leave your sacrifice there beside the altar. Go and be reconciled to that person. Then come and offer your sacrifice to God. Matthew 5:23-24
