Annoyance

Annoyance

What if I just don’t like some other Christians? Some can be pretty annoying.

God’s Response

Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourself. Philippians 2:3

Don’t just pretend that you love others. Really love them. . . . Take delight in honoring each other. . . . Don’t try to act important, but enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all! Romans 12:9-10, 16

It’s easy to like people who are likeable, but we model more of God’s love when we serve those who are annoying. You’ll never find a perfect church, and you’ll never find a perfect group of people —even among Christians —so don’t go looking for that. Instead, seek God’s guidance as to where you should be, and then take joy in reaching out and loving those God has placed in your sphere of influence. You may be surprised at how the power of God can bring the most unlikely people together as friends. When you reach out to others in love, your heart is also changed.

God’s Challenge

If we are living now by the Holy Spirit, let us follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives. Let us not become conceited, or irritate one another, or be jealous of one another. Galatians 5:25-26
