Witchcraft

There’s a group at school who say they are good witches. Is that okay?

God’s Response

Household gods give worthless advice, fortune-tellers predict only lies, and interpreters of dreams pronounce falsehoods that give no comfort. So my people are wandering like lost sheep; they are attacked because they have no shepherd. Zechariah 10:2

Do not practice fortune-telling or witchcraft. Leviticus 19:26

There’s no such thing as a good witch. God outlaws all witchcraft—no matter how innocent it may appear—because he is not the source of their power. Witchcraft looks to an authority other than God—Satan. At best, these witches are fakes just having a little fun; at worst, they are in contact with evil spirits and are thus extremely dangerous. Satan is behind the occult. Today, many books, television shows, and games emphasize fortune-telling, séances, and other occult practices. These are not as harmless as they appear to be. They counterfeit God’s power in order to look good, but they are rooted in evil and are totally opposed to God.

This Is Promising

Those who practice witchcraft . . . their fate is in the fiery lake of burning sulfur. Revelation 21:8
