Why The Church?
Why the Church?
What is the purpose of church?
God’s Response
Each day the Lord added to their fellowship those who were being saved. Acts 2:47
The human body has many parts, but the many parts make up one whole body. So it is with the body of Christ. Some of us are Jews, some are Gentiles, some are slaves, and some are free. But we have all been baptized into one body by one Spirit, and we all share the same Spirit. 1 Corinthians 12:12-13
The church exists to encourage and equip Christians and to reach out to those who don’t know Christ. The church is not a social club, a secret society, or a place to hide from the world. The church is made up of imperfect people who make mistakes, but despite all of its imperfections, the church is still God’s vehicle for changing the world. It is not optional for Christians to be a part of the church; it is a privilege and an opportunity. It is your place to grow in your belief, to belong to a loving community, and to become all that God has designed you to be.
This Is Promising
Upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it. Matthew 16:18
