Tough Chances
Tough Chances
What if an opportunity looks too difficult? Should I still go for it?
God’s Response
I said to them, “You know very well what trouble we are in. Jerusalem lies in ruins, and its gates have been destroyed by fire. Let us rebuild the wall of Jerusalem and end this disgrace!” . . .They replied at once, “Yes, let’s rebuild the wall!” So they began the good work. Nehemiah 2:17-18
Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
Even though the Israelite exiles had been back in Jerusalem for many years, the walls of the city remained broken, leaving its people defenseless and vulnerable. The overwhelming work of rebuilding the walls seemed impossible, but Nehemiah didn’t let that stop him. He knew that it had to be done and that God had called him to do it, so Nehemiah made a plan, sought God’s help, and mobilized the people. The wall around the huge city was completed in just fifty-two days! Important jobs are rarely going to be easy, but seemingly impossible tasks can be accomplished when God is with you. In fact, God loves to use our weaknesses to show his power, so go for it and see how God works through you!
