The Tempter
The Tempter
Where does temptation come from?
God’s Response
When you are being tempted, do not say, “God is tempting me.” God is never tempted to do wrong, and he never tempts anyone else. Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. James 1:13-14
The tree was beautiful and its fruit looked delicious. . . . So she took some of the fruit and ate it. Genesis 3:6
I am not surprised! Even Satan disguises himself as an angel of light. 2 Corinthians 11:14
As a believer, you will face temptation, but it will never come from God! Satan’s favorite strategies are to make sin appear to be desirable and good and to twist truth into partial truths. He knows you well enough to know what will tempt you and where your weaknesses are. That’s why you need to stay alert, pray, and realize that you are facing a clever enemy.
This Is Promising
Keep watch and pray, so that you will not give in to temptation. For the spirit is willing, but the body is weak! Matthew 26:41
