What difference does the Holy Spirit make in my life?

God’s Response

We have received God’s Spirit (not the world’s spirit), so we can know the wonderful things God has freely given us. 1 Corinthians 2:12

Stephen, full of the Holy Spirit, gazed steadily into heaven and saw the glory of God, and he saw Jesus standing in the place of honor at God’s right hand. . . . As they stoned him, Stephen prayed, “Lord Jesus, receive my spirit.” He fell to his knees, shouting, “Lord, don’t charge them with this sin!” And with that, he died. Acts 7:55, 59-60

The Christian life is not meant to be a solo journey. You need God’s help through other Christians and through the Holy Spirit. God gave you the Holy Spirit because you need him in order to live the Christian life. Try to do it alone and you’ll fail. The Holy Spirit lives in you, enabling you to become more like Christ every day. Only with the Holy Spirit do you have the power to live—or die—for Christ.
