Right Choices

Right Choices

Will God tell me if I’m making the right choices?

God’s Response

I appeal to you to show kindness to my child, Onesimus. I became his father in the faith while here in prison. Onesimus hasn’t been of much use to you in the past, but now he is very useful to both of us. I am sending him back to you, and with him comes my own heart. . . . He is no longer like a slave to you. He is more than a slave, for he is a beloved brother. Philemon 1:10-12, 16

Why are the right choices often the hardest ones to make? It would not be easy for Onesimus to return to the master from whom he had stolen money and run away. Onesimus’s owner, Philemon, had to decide whether to take his runaway slave back as a fellow believer. Paul advised both men to make the right choices. When you know the right thing to do, God will confirm it deep in your heart, and other trusted people around you will agree with it. It may not make it easier, but knowing what is right can give you the courage to do it. The Bible calls this wisdom, which comes from the Word of God.

This Is Promising
